What Can I Do With My Toddler At Disneyland?

Writer's picture: Aubry RichardsAubry Richards

The number one question I have had when helping friends and family plan their Disney Trip is "What can my toddler do?"

My answer to them is EVERYTHING!... Well, almost everything! Disney Parks are the most family friendly theme parks around the world! There are so many rides and experiences that toddlers (and Babies) can share in!

So I decided to compile a list of ALL Disneyland rides that have ZERO height requirements! I am also going to give a quick description of each ride! (You're Welcome! LOL)

Let's Start in Fantasyland!:

- Alice in Wonderland- Sit in the famous Caterpillar and ride through a colorful retelling of Story of Disney's Alice in Wonderland- Considered a slow, "dark" ride.

-Casey Jr. Circus Train- Ride in the cute little train from Disney's Dumbo and see the sites around Fantasyland.

-Dumbo the Flying Elephant- Soar with Dumbo! Pull the lever to tell Dumbo to go up or down.

-It's a Small World- Ride in a boat and listen to the children of the world sing the catchiest tune in many different languages. (A favorite among the Dad's of Disney... HaHa)

-King Arthur Carrousel- Ride on the beautifully carved horses in the center of fantasyland.

-Mad Tea Party- Spin around in an oversized teacup, twist the wheel to go faster!

-Mr. Toads Wild Ride- Ride through in Toads Motorcar and relive the story of Mr Toad and his mania! Another twisty "dark" ride.

-Peter Pan's Flight- The most popular of the "dark" rides, soar through the story of Peter Pan on flying ships.

-Pinocchio's Daring Journey- Ride through the Story of Pinocchio. Another Twisty "Dark" Ride

-Snow White's Enchanted Wish- Ride in this newly remodeled "dark" ride and rediscover the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!

-*Storybook Land Canals- My personal favorite, ride in a cute boat and discover miniature versions of the castles, and lands found in the beloved Disney classic stories!

-Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk-Through- This is perfect if you have a toddler that just needs to walk/climb some energy out! Walk through Sleeping Beauty's Castle and watch the story unfold as you climb.

Wow! And that was only Fantasyland!

On to Tomorrowland!:

- Astro Orbiter- Fly around in a rocket! use the lever to go higher or lower!

-Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters!- Help Buzz Lightyear defeat The Evil Emperor Zurg by pulling a lever and shooting targets while you zoom around space!

-*Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage-Ride in a submarine and explore below the surface with Dory, Marlin and Nemo!

Next up is Adventureland!:

-Tarzan's Treehouse- Another great one to get the wiggles out of your littles! Climb and explore the home built by Tarzan's parents!

-Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room- Cool off and listen to "The Birds Sing Word" this is a fun animatronic show that is air conditioned and the perfect time to grab yourself a Dole Whip!

-Jungle Cruise- Ride in a boat and listen to some punny jokes from the Jungle Cruise Skipper while viewing all the animals of the jungle!

New Orleans Square: (one of my personal favorite areas)

-The Haunted Mansion- Ride in your personal Doom Buggy while you are sung to by 999 happy haunts! Once you are through the "Stretching room" this mansion isn't so haunted, however the beginning room does have a loud crash, scream and is very dark. Use your parental judgement on whether your child will be able to handle this one.

-Pirates of the Caribbean- This classic ride has only gotten better with the addition of Jack Sparrow. Another chance to cool down, this boat ride full of pirates is sure to be a blast! This ride has a couple of drops and a small chance of getting wet.

Onward to Frontierland and Critter Country!: (I tend to combine these two because the are so close )

-The Many Adventures of Winnie- Ride in the cutest Beehive vehicles and relive the story of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Owl, Rabbit, Eeyore. Kanga and Roo!

-Mark Twain River Boat & *Sailing Ship Columbia- Ride on a classic River boat or the Ship Columbia on the classic Rivers of America.

-Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island- Take a raft over and explore the island and let the kids roam free!

TOON Town!: (One of the best places to let your kids play! Wander around and look for interactive things to play in, take pictures with and interact with!)

-Roger Rabbits Car Toon Spin- Zoom around in this fun ride that tells the story of Roger Rabbit- Warning- it is Dark, loud and the walk through line can be scary for little kids. I suggest watching it on Youtube beforehand to decide if your little one will enjoy or if it should be a pass.

-*Chip N' Dale's Treehouse- Climb around and play inside the house- somewhat like a park.

-*Donald's Boat- Once again climb around and explore, ring the bell and pull the whistles to trigger water spouts!

-*Goofy's Play House- Especially great for toddlers, this cute house is full of things to interact and explore!

-*Mickey's House and Meet and Greet- Meet the Mouse himself and while you wait in line explore all that Mickey's house has to offer!

-*Minnies House and Meet and Greet- Once again, explore Minnie's House while you wait in line to meet her!

Last but not least I want to discuss the Disneyland Railroad and Main Street USA!

Main Street is full of small little interactive things to do, take the time to explore! You can ride the Main Street Vehicles for a quick break, Look at all the beautiful window displays, Watch "*Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln", have your fortune told by *Esmerelda, and so much more!

The Disneyland Railroad has multiple stops throughout the park in different lands. I love to start at the Main Street Station and Ride it all the way around to discover the Dinosaurs in Disneyland and see all the sites while relaxing!

WOW! That was a long post! do you see how much there is to do with toddlers in Disneyland? Endless possibilities! I haven't even mentioned the entertainment OR the rides available in Disney's California Adventure! (Saving that for another night and another post!)

I hope I have convinced you of all the fun and wonderful things there are for toddlers to enjoy! My daughter always has had the time of her life!
